Remodeling job!

Well i promised pictures from the house, so here they are. As you'll see we pretty much added a new house to our existing house. HAHA We can't wait until we can use the huge Bonus Room. We may never leave the house again.
Anytime it gets real quiet and there is a ladder in the room, you can pretty much count on finding Mitchell right here!
BEFORE: Approximately 1,100 sq. feet
AFTER: Approximately 2,400 sq. feet. WOW what a difference! (I could have picked a better time of the day to take this picture, huh?)
Kitchen: Grandmother re-did our existing cabinets. They look WONDERFUL and the black crown mold and rope around the top just tops them off. We are about to order new countertops too.
KITCHEN: Looking in this direction...the old backdoor was to the left of the stove here. We knocked the door and wall out and opened it all up. Now our kitchen table won't be crowded like it was in the old kitchen part.
I took this picture from inside the old middle bedroom. We are now turning this room into the washroom (getting the washer and dryer out of the kitchen....woohoooo) So where the doorway is here, was where the old window to this room was. We knocked the window out and made it the new hallway to the addition. Mitchell's new big boy bedroom is on the left after you pass through the doorway here. I couldn't really get at a good angle to take the picture of the room.
BONUS ROOM: This is at the end of the hallway that you just saw. You can take a left and come up to the Bonus Room or step down into the two-car garage. This is a really big room 23x24, so we'll have lots of room to play now. Notice my two workers, working hard!
This is the beautiful railing that Pawpaw and my dad put up this weekend. They did a great job and I LOVE it! Hopefully it's Mitchell-prove! HAHA
And finally, this is the foreman of the job, telling us that we are doing a great job and that its almost complete!

Update

Hello! Just wanted to let everyone know that we are alive and well. It's been a while since i've had time for a new post. We have been working on the house a lot and trying to keep Mitchell off the ladders, away from air conditioning vents that aren't covered, and out of all the dust from where we have been sanding. HAHA He just wants to go through the one door (to the new addition) that he doesn't need to go in. So hopefully within a couple weeks we will be done. Joe is supposed to come over sometime next week to lay the carpet, then all we'll have left is the electrical, besides a few odds and ends. So the end is in sight. Woohoooo!
Another reason I haven't posted lately is because our camera was messed up. I would put a brand new camera in it and it still wouldn't work. So after about 30 minutes of Daniel and David giving the poor Target girl a hard time, we left with a new camera. I've taken a few pics already, I just have to be at my mom's so I can add pictures.
Other than the house Mitchell is still being Mitchell. He LOVES new places so highchairs never work at restaurants. All he wants to do is just get down and walk around and look at all the new stuff and people. He definetly has his daddy's personality - he's a people person. I don't know why we torture ourselves by eating out anymore HAHA Amy got to witness the chaos first hand a couple weeks ago. John and I have to eat in shifts! He has been walking now for about 2 1/2 months, but just now got to where he wears shoes. At first he would stumble over the shoes and would just want to take them off, but I think he's finally gotten used to them. He had a fun weekend spending the night w/Pops and Gram Saturday night and going to church with them Sunday. John and I rode the train downtown to the Titans game Sunday. It really was a blast! Hopefully I'll have some new pictures up soon from the new camera. Have a great day!

Trip to Woodstock!

Woodstock, GA that is! We took a short weekend trip down to visit Matt & Shannah (my best friend) This was our second trip down. We went when Mitchell was 4 months old, so he was a little more active this time. We are gonna go back down once Shannah gets pregnant, so we can help baby-proof their house. We had a great time! Mitchell was a great rider and very good all weekend long, even with a snotty nose and some new teeth coming in.
Saturday he got to meet his future girlfriend, Kendall (Matt's niece). That is if her parents approve...he was already trying to kiss all over her. She is about a month and a half younger than Mitchell. Mitchell also got to play with Bradley (Kendall's 3 yr. old brother) They had lots of fun chasing each other around Shannah's house. It was the cutest thing to hear them squeel and after they were done Mitchell could hardly walk, his legs were like jello.
Mitchell also got to play with a cat for the first time and he really liked Squirt. He would also give him kisses (Hmmmmm, guess Mitchell is gonna love kissing) He wasn't too sure about Cammie, their dog. I think he's just used to smaller dogs because of Rocky.
Other than that we just hung out and watched football and "Blades of Glory" (Two thumbs up by the way) We really miss Aunt Shannah and Uncle Matt and wished they were here in TN! Maybe someday they'll come back for good! ;0) Thanks for a great weekend, it was very nice to get away from our construction site! We love you!

Aunt Shannah, Mitch, and Kristin
Hey, Baby...give me a kiss!

YEAH, I got one!!!!
Mitchell letting Squirt smell his hand!
Mitchell loves kissing everyone!
WOW, I caught a bear cub! No, thats just Squirt the cat! (Aunt Shannah's wording)
Here's Cammie, begging to get out of her cage. She gets really excited when lots of people are over, so she had to take a break!

Happy (Belated) Birthday to Pawpaw!

We just wanted to say a Happy (Belated) Birthday to Pawpaw. He turned 82 on Sunday! We are so blessed to still have him after all of his health issues, but he is doing great and we are keeping him busy working over at our construction site. Mitchell absolutely loves Pawpaw. He stays w/Pawpaw and Grandmother every Thursday and has a blast. Pawpaw meets us out at the car every Thursday morning before I can even get him out of the carseat, then they pick a flower for Grandmother and take it to her. Mitchell knows how to smell it too!
We are off to Woodstock, GA Friday for the Labor Day weekend to visit my best friend Shannah and her husband, Matt. Hope everyone has a safe weekend!
Pawpaw and his great-grandboys!
It's a burrito! Last Thursday night i was throwing the blanket over Nolen and "trapping" him, then i started to pull him around, well wouldn't you know someone else wanted to join in on the fun, so we had a twin burrito! The next morning at grandma's Mitchell saw the blanket still on the floor, so he laid down on it and was like, "Ok someone pull me around." HAHA
Flying down the hall in the hippo! Mitchell loves being pushed down the hall and going fast. Is he going to take after his Papaw and be a racer??
Mitchell trying out the chair that he used to sit in. I think he's over the weight limit now!

9-1-1

Jamie, my sister-in-law, wanted me to post this story, because its a classic kid story!
So a couple weeks ago Mitchell had the phone pushing all of the buttons like he always does. We didn't think anything about it, because we always let him play with the phone. So while i was reading him a few books in his room before bedtime, I hear Rocky going crazy, so I knew someone was at the front door. John answers the door (without a shirt on) and its a policeman!!! He asks John if someone called 9-1-1 and John was like no. So then the officer asked if we had a kid, so John told him that we had a one year old. So obviously Mitchell already knows how to dial 9-1-1. HAHA I guess he had dialed it, hung up, then turned the phone back on, because he said that the responder had tried calling back, but that the phone was off the hook.
Lesson learned: If Mitchell is ever at your house, DON'T let him play with a phone or the police will come to your house!

FFFFOOOOOORRRRRRREEEEEEEEEE

Little Tiger!!Hmmmmm, which club should i I use now!

He must have just hit a hole in one!

Mitchell with his driver!

Ms. Judy bought Nolen and Mitchell some toys golf clubs and they both love playing with them. It's the first toy Mitchell goes for when we get to Grandma's and the last toy that he gets back out after I have put all of the toys up! Nolen loves hitting the golf balls when he is over, he tells his daddy that he wants to play golf like Tiger when he gets older. Mitchell uses them more as a weapon right now, but hopefully we can start teaching him the right way to use the clubs! Pasto Andrew didn't call him "Bam Bam" for nothing!

Construction Zone!

So i've been a very bad blogger since July 31. I've not even gotten Mitchell's birthday pictures up yet (i just now received all of the pics). BUT i do have a very good reason...our house has been a construction zone the past few months and here the past couple of weeks things have been very hectic. The kitchen is getting totally redone, so that means everything that was in the kitchen is now in the living room. The old "Study" is getting turned into a laundry room/hall entrance into the new addition, so everything that was in that room is now in our bedroom. SO that leaves us with one normal non-dirty room - Mitchell's! We have to keep the door to his bedroom shut. He doesn't like this AT ALL! So this is my very good excuse as to why i have been MIA. I don't even think I've taken a picture of Mitchell since his birthday...bad mommy! I honestly didn't know where my camera was until this week! HAHA So hopefully things will get back to normal a little bit around our house and I can get back into the swing of things. But for now, Mitchell says hello and to come back very soon and check the site again. Who knows what he'll do next!
