Trampoline fun

Papaw and Grandma got the grandkids a trampoline for Christmas, so we decided to put it together Saturday since it was such a nice (but windy) day! Mitchell helped us and Shelby cheered us on.
Wearing her Amish bonnet her Grandma brought back for her!
It's the "Sanford" eye squint grin!

Like Father like Son! Mitchell doing his part!

Cutie-pa-tuties!

Being goofy! (what he does best!)

Almost done!

We almost had a casualty after we got it put together. John was doing a flip that he did when he was "younger"...well he didn't quite make it around and he landed on his neck. I know it hurt him because all the next day he kept rubbing it and John never complains about anything. He also had some trampoline burn on his forehead!
This is him trying to get some air for his "trick"

Going around...

And not quite making it around!

I had to get in on the action too, but i chose not to do any "tricks" HAHA

Miss Shelby loved the trampoline.

He loves his sister! He told me yesterday while sitting beside her in the car that they were going to talk when she gets older! I think he wishes she could talk now!

Weeeeeeee!

And to end the day John climbed a ladder to change the rope on the flagpole. What a good son-in-law. Not sure if my dad would have done this or not! I couldn't watch!

6 months

1/2 way to a year! WOW its hard to believe!
A few things about Shelby at 6 months:

-you can sit up for a VERY long time now and hardly ever fall over. We usually put pillows around you, just in case! :)
-you are sleeping in your crib ALL NIGHT LONG! It's wonderful! We had to let you "learn" to go to sleep on your own, but it only took a couple nights! You cry out a couple times during the night sometimes, but its never over 5 minutes at a time!
-you are loving your solid foods. So far you have liked them all. I'm thinking you are going to be an eater, because we can't even eat around you if you haven't eaten yet.
-you are loving your baths now, especially now that you can sit up like a big girl!
-your jump-a-roo is one of your favorite things to do. As long as someone is around for you to see and be entertained by you love being in it.
-so far you are loving the warm weather. We have taken advantage of the warmer days and you love sitting in your exersaucer just watching us play!
-you are a little cuddle bug! Whenever you are wanting to go to sleep you love holding mommy's hand or touching my face.
-you still aren't a good napper during the day, unless someone's holding you. But we are thankful that you sleep at night!
-you weighed 17 lbs. 5 oz. (77%) and were 26 1/2 inches (77%) yesterday at your 6 month check up!
-and Dr. M. said that the blonde spot on the back of your head may be there for a while! :)
Ok mom, I'm kinda bored now!
Pretty girl on her dedication day. (thats a whole post to itself)

Lovin' her bath!

Ready for the Beach!

I've been consignment shopping the past two weeks and came home with some really cute swimwear for the kids for the summer. Yesterday we were having the wintertime blues, so we thought we would try on our new suits (Don't worry i didn't put one on-I'll spare you :)
I got Shelby this bathing suit with a teal cover up for $4! Mitchell's trunks actually came from Goodwill (my new fav. store) for $2.49

Big girl sitting up!
Beach bod!

Love his cow lick!

It's all about Mitch

So John checked the blog, which he hadn't done in quite sometime, since its blocked at his school and he was really disappointed in me. There were hardly any pics of Mitchell and if there were they were with Shelby. I haven't done this intentionally, because i really do still take pictures of him. I guess its just that with Shelby, something new is going on each month and she's changing so quickly that i have more to say with her. So i'm not doing it intentionally Mitchell when you read this 20 years from now! HAHA So here's a tribute to my man Mitch!

A little about Mitchell:
If you are around Mitchell much you will find out that he has quite the imagination and he's hardly ever himself. He's usually Batman...a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle...a Ben 10 monster...or whatever his imagination is thinking about at the time.
One of his favorite things to do is to have sword fights with his daddy. They'll go running through the house and its very entertaining for Shelby!

He has hardly no fear. There's a new skatepark at the Charlie Daniels Park. We went yesterday since it was so nice out and when i got there he was going down the ramp saying, "I'm gonna rip this up" (lingo learned from his daddy)

He's getting very big. He'll be 4 in July, but i bought him some size 4 swimming trunks the other day and i couldn't even get them over his rear! He's in 5T jeans and mostly 5 T shirts! I think he got his daddy's build!

He loves school (Mother's Day Out) This is him and his buddy Cole. He has really learned a lot this year!

He's a little ham. We went to my old college Thursday night for a basketball game and he was out on the floor dancing and flirting with girls. Yet another attribute he gets from his daddy! :)

He's my little love bug! At night time after we have read books and prayed, he'll grab my hand and say, "Let's snuggle" Melts my heart! He's very affectionate too. He loves kissing his Shelbers and just about anyone really! I keep asking him if he'll still kiss me like that when he's 12. He says yes, but we'll see!

A couple other funny stories:
We were driving Friday and we passed a green house (his fav. color) so he told me when those people died, he wanted to live in their house!
I was ready a book to him and he needed to get up to get something, so he told me to pause it!
Today in church he told me he had to poot, so he got under the chair and pooted down there. (At least he's considerate of others) HAHA
Gotta love that kid!

5 months already???

It seems like i just posted the 4 month post! Whew!
5 months:
-you are getting much stronger in your arms. You can push up pretty high.
-you can go around in a complete circle while on your belly. I have a feeling you will be crawling soon.
-we started you back on cereal last week and you seem to be doing fine. You have had sweet potatoes so far and seem to like them.
-you really dislike it when the bottle comes out of your mouth to burp.
-you are a momma's girl. With Mitchell John could usually get him calmed down and to sleep, but you seem to like it when momma puts you to sleep best and thats fine by me :)
-you sat up all by yourself for over 5 minutes last night.
-you are very vocal as you will see in the video below!
Working those arms out

Short little stumpy legs

Here's Shelby's form of communication these days and i might say that she's quite good at it!
