11 Months

Happy 11 months to Mitchell Cash! WOW, it's SO hard to believe that in a month he'll be one year old. It seems like yesterday John and I were on the way to the hospital at 4 AM, saying to ourselves..."We are going to bring a baby home with us...WOW" He is such a joy and makes us smile everyday.
Well we survived our first ear infection. His fever broke after a couple days, but he still wasn't himself for about 5 days. He had some sort of rash all over, it seemed like everytime we went outside into the heat it got worse, but thats gone too. I believe he's back to himself now though.
The last month or so he has learned a lot...he absolutely loves climbing stairs or climbing anything for that matter (see last picture). We don't have any at our house, but as soon as he gets to grandmothers house he heads straight for the stairs as fast as he can crawl. He now pushes cars as if someone was driving them. I think he has learned this from watching his older cousin Nolen playing with his cars!! He is starting to eat more "finger foods" too, he wasn't real sure about the different textures at first, but he's adjusting! He loves older kids...we went to Defeated Creek Saturday to visit mom and dad and there were these two brothers that he just kept crawling to and on HAHA I was just afraid that he was going to bite them. :0) We are still working on the walking thing, but i'm not pushing it. It's hard enough now to keep up with him.
Everyone mark your calendar for the big pool party bash on July 21st to celebrate Mitchell's first birthday. Not sure what time yet, but it will be at my mom's house. (there will be some major cornhole games going on though - a special thanks to cousin Jessica for introducing us to the game, everyone we have let play, becomes addicted instantly!)
No, I'm not putting him in a chokehold! HAHA I was holding him down and tickling him. It's not quite as easy to take pictures of him as it used to be.
CHEEEEESSEEE!!
He loves sunglasses, whether he's wearing them or chewing on them.
Mitchell helping mommy and daddy clean some dishes! John and I were talking to Craig in the kitchen and had our backs turned to him...we turn around and see Mitchell up on the dishwasher just like this. We have a little monkey on our hands!!

Ear Infection....YUCK!

Well we have had our first experience with an ear infection this week. After Mitchell's second nap on Monday he was very cranky so we just thought that he didn't get all of his nap out. Well yesterday morning he woke up in a terrible mood, ate breakfast, then it wasn't an hour later and he was back asleep and slept for over 2 hours, so i knew something was up. We had already planned to go visit w/Gram's at work and go out to eat w/her yesterday so we went on. Mitchell just wasn't being himself...wasn't too friendly w/people, didn't eat all of his lunch (BIG clue there) and just kept crying. Last night he had a temperature of about 101, so we went to see the doctor today. He has a pretty bad ear infection in his left ear. Hopefully the Motrin will help w/his pain and fever. I know i had my fair share of ear infections when i was little, so hopefully he won't take after his momma. Just thought i would share the latest from the Carey household. Hope all is well w/all of you!

Watch out Michael Phelps!!!

Mitchell got to swim in grandma and papaw's pool for the first time last week and let me tell you, he absolutely LOVED it! It was pretty chilly, but it didn't seem to bother him at all! It looks like he might be able to swim before he walks...HAHA
John holding Mitchell...he was kicking his feet and moving his arms at the same time, we just need to teach him to alternate his arms or maybe he's just going to do the breast stroke.
Mitchell in his new crab float!
This is what John's face looked like just about the whole time he was holding him!
