Happy 3 months!

Happy 3 months to Shelby yesterday! She's a TOTALLY different baby now and this first picture defines how she acts most of the time now-happy! Her colic is officially gone-praise the lord! That was a VERY trying time for John and I and i know some babies have it a month longer than she did, so we are thankful! Her reflux is definitely still present, but we did take her off her meds and she can manage it. You can still tell that she's uncomfortable at some feedings, but she doesn't cry afterwards like she did at first. She definitely still spits-A LOT! But we are hoping she'll outgrow this soon too.
Some new things you are doing this month:
-you are really trying to talk, not sure what you are trying to say, but you are very vocal at times.
-you laughed out loud for the first time Friday night at Pops and Grams house. One of my most favorite sounds in the world!
-you are really aware of your hands now. Still mostly sucking on them. You haven't put them in front of your face and stared at them, but I'm sure its coming soon.
-you are sleeping usually from 9PM-4AM. Still on the couch with either mommy or daddy. I think you have gotten used to the softness of the couch because you don't like your crib at all.
-you have rolled over from tummy to back a handful of times now. and you are getting really good at lifting your head on your stomach.
-you are a really good shopping buddy. We go to the store and you love being in the Baby Bjorn. You actually fell asleep one day.
-your hair is falling out pretty quickly. I'm almost positive it's going to come back blonde as i can see some new baby hairs underneath. We are still guessing about your eyes though.
-you are too sweet and we love you!
Happy Baby

Not sure what this look is all about! HAHA

Buzz!

What do you do when you paid $12 for a bad haircut? You don't go pay $12 more somewhere else to fix it, you go to Daddy's Barber Shop! I took Mitchell a couple weeks ago to a new place and lets just say, he won't be going back there! SO last night John really wanted to buzz it-and i finally conceded! BEFORE

DURING

That is a big goose egg on Mitchell's head! He had a fight with the baseboard and unfortunately the baseboard won! Boys will be boys!

Lots of hair lost between these two!

Can't leave Miss Shelby out! Almost 11 weeks old!

He loves his sister! I have a feeling he's going to be very protective over her, well he already is. Anytime we go somewhere and someone else had been keeping her, the first thing he asks is, "Did you take good care of my sister?"

First time to the dentist

Mitchell had his first trip to the dentist last week with me. I have to be honest, i was not looking forward to it. But he did absolutely awesome! I was thinking he was going to be a terror at the dentist like his mommy! (although mom said i did good up until my reflux problems started-i think it had to do with making me gag) But anyways, I got my teeth cleaned first and Mitchell (sort of) watched me. He was too busy "exploring" the dentist office. Julie, my dental hygienist, said more than once, "my he is busy" HAHA So when it came Mitchell's turn he hopped right up in the chair and was ready to go! She said his teeth looked great! He even got to pick out three toys-two for him and one for me! :) Way to go Mitchell! Mommy is proud of you!
Practicing opening his mouth wide!
Hmmmm, wonder if she'll need these!
Pretty smile!

Dr. Helms checking him out!

Thank you Ms. Julie for doing such a good job!

2 month doctor's visit

Shelby went for her 2 month doctor's visit yesterday. I called like 3 weeks before her actual 2 month date and yesterday was the first i could get in. So i learned my lesson and went ahead and scheduled her 4 month yesterday as we were leaving! She weighed 11 lbs. 8 oz. and was 22 inches long. She's definitely grown out more than long since she was born! HA HA The doctor said he expects her to really grow between now and her 4 month visit! He said she looked great! She took her shots like a champ. Only cried for about 30 seconds afterwards!
Happy girl!
Everybody asks who she looks it, but its really hard to tell. I guess you could say she's a good mixture of her mommy and daddy. The doctor said he would guess that she will end up having light brown eyes, but he said he's only right half the time! HA HA We shall see! Some days they look blue, others green and brown. I told mom maybe she's gonna have chameleon eyes and just be whatever she's up against!

2 months!

Happy 2 months to Shelby! This is the latest picture i have taken(Thursday)
A few things about you:
-You are still sleeping on the couch. We'll put you in your crib and you will only last 15 minutes. We have tried every position imaginable too.
-You sleep anywhere from 4-5 hours at night. Take a bottle and will (usually) go right back to bed.
-Your head/neck strength is getting better. It's good enough to sit in a Bumbo seat without help.
-You are taking 4.5 oz. of breastmilk every 3-4 hours during the day. We are starting one formula bottle a day to help you switch over since i only have about a months worth of mommy's milk saved up.
-You are trying to coo and talk.
-You LOVE looking at your black/white checked initials on your wall.
-Your colic isn't quite as bad as it was. Sometimes you'll sleep right through it.
-You are constantly congested. They say its a symptom of the reflux. (it's not bad enough to keep you from taking your bottle though)
-We still aren't sure what color your hair or eyes are going to be. Keeping us guessing!
-According to our scales you weigh around 12 lbs.
We love you little girl!

Defeated 09

We had our annual family camping trip to Defeated a couple weeks ago. John went up Friday and spent the day with Mitchell and I went up Saturday, so one of us could stay at home with Shelby! It was a little chilly on Saturday but not too bad. Mitchell and Drew spent a lot of tim play fighting and being buds! We did our usual: fed the fish, rode bikes, carved pumpkins, and ate good food!

I went back and found pictures from the past 4 years we have been of Mitchell!

3 months old. First trip to Defeated! (Oct. 06)

Fall Fun!

Ready for Halloween in the Park (Charlie Daniels Park)
There were a total of 56 entries in the costume contest and they gave out 12 prizes, Mitchell was one of them. Here he is telling everyone his name and what he was dressed up as.
There's a story behind this picture below. This is Mitchell talking to Naveya (his "girlfriend" from last year who doesn't go to his school anymore) John was up on the stage with Mitch, so i text John and told him that Naveya was on the other side of the stage. Mitchell would start walking toward her, stop, then take his hat off and put it back on. He did this like three times before he finally got to her, it was too cute. Then once he got over to her, she wouldn't talk to him! HAHA

He had to take his pic with the other army guy!
