Week in Review

Mitchell has had a fun week last week, since his daddy was off of work 2 days! We went bowling yesterday, to get his haircut, and out to eat with Pops and Gram. He played in the snow on Wed. We didn't get much, but there was enough on the deck to play with. Then we went to Jimmy Floyd and Mitchell and John enjoyed some swimming!

SNOW BALL FIGHT! Wooohoooo!

You ready?

Mr. Snowman (We'd like to give a special thanks to Mr. Potato Head for lending us some body parts)

Look what I made mom!

Bowling!

Daddy helping me out a little!

I've been meaning to get him singing the ABC's on video for about a month now and I finally remembered to do it! He's acting a little shy for some reason in the video! He usually screams them out!

Stomping Mr. Snowman and throwing snowballs at the boy in the window! HAHA

Mitchell's BIG Announcement!

Well I'm sure most of you already knew, but Mitchell wanted everyone to hear it from him first! He's going to be a BIG BROTHER! He was too into his Cheetoh, but he'll usually say whatever you say last. Ex: Do you want a brother or a sister? Then it'll be a sister! And vice versa!

I haven't been to the doctor yet, but according to the calendar I'll be due sometime between September 20-27! I'm really feeling the "effects" of pregnancy a lot earlier on this time than with Mitchell! Not sure if it's because I know what to look for or what! Everyone has been giving me girl "vibes", especially my mom, so maybe thats what is different this time!

It's amazing how once you take that pregnancy test and it comes back positive that you really start feeling pregnant! John and I had started dieting the first of Jan. and I just thought I was hungry all the time from dieting, but i guess now I really was hungry! HAHA

Anyways, we just wanted to share our news with everyone! This had been a work in progress since about June, so we are very excited that God has blessed us! Things don't always work according to our plan or our timing, but we know that God's timing is perfect! So we just pray that he blesses us with a safe pregnancy and a healthy baby!

Big announcement!

Most of you know by now, but Mitchell has some big news that he would like to announce! I have it on my camera right here, but I forgot the cord! Check back tomorrow!

Strep Throat

Sorry for the lack of posts here lately! Friday night Mitchell started running a fever and by Saturday morning it was like 102.5! He was sort of congested all week so i was thinking it was something viral! He felt fine until the medicine wore off, then his temperature would shoot back up and whatever was hurting him would start again! I was thinking ears the whole time! So we went to the doctor this morning and the doc says that his throat looked pretty red, so she did a strep throat test just in case-sure enough he has it! She said you don't see kids under 3 having it very often! So we started his medicine this morning, so hopefully he'll be feeling much better by tomorrow! He's def. a tough little cookie, because I've heard strep is not fun at all! I hope everyone else is staying healthy! This is the only bad thing about this time of the year!

Gatlinburg

We took a 2 night trip to Gatlinburg over the Christmas break! We left New Year's Day! We stayed at the Ramada in Pigeon Forge! It was really nice and even had an indoor pool, which Mitchell couldn't get enough of! I think the second night he was swimming until almost 11P.M. (10P.M. our time) This was definetly one of the highlights of his trip! The second day we went to the Ripley's Aquarium to see the sharks, to Ober Gatlinburg, then later that night we rode race cars on the slick track, which was another one of his fav. things that we did! Wish I could have videoed it longer but there was only a little place where you could see him! But we rode in the 2-seater, so he had his own little wheel! He was acting like he was turning it the whole time and grinning from ear to ear! I def. think he got his Papaw's need for speed! He even managed to lock himself in SOMEONE ELSE'S room while we were at the hotel too! We would race down the hall everytime we got off the elevator, well this time he went a little too far! I think the maid's had just gotten done cleaning this room, because the door was cracked, so in he bolts and shuts the door behind him! Our first thought was, WHAT are we going to do, then we saw that the maid's were just down the hall! So John took the approach of scaring him! He told him that the monster in that room was going to get him! After a little coaching he finally opened the door! LOL It was a great trip and Mitchell was a very good boy!
Swimming with his daddy!
Ahhhhhhh, its the pool monster!

This was Mitchell's watershow, as he kept calling it! This portion of the pool was a jacuzzi, so John would stick his hand over the hole that blowed in the pool and it would shoot the water out!

SO excited to see the sharks!

Mr. Shark

Trying to find Nemo and Dory!

I love my daddy!

And my mommy!

It's the new fish! The Mitchellcasho!

Stuck in his bubble!

Walking through the tunnel! For those who have never been to this aquarium, you walk through this tunnel and there are sharks/fish/turtles swimming all around and actually right above you! Mitchell never freaked out or cried, but he did keep saying, "walking, walking, walking" to make sure we never stopped for too long through this part! John told him to tickle the sharks bellies when they would swim over, so that helped him a lot!

Waving to the scuba diver men who were INSIDE the tank cleaning the glass! What a job!

Riding the tram! It didn't phase him at all!

Ending a great trip with a little racing! It was freezing this night, but it didn't bother Mitchell at all! He put daddy's gloves on and he was ready to race!

Here's a little video of Mitchell riding the tram! John was standing up videoing, so all he was worried about was John holding on to the strap!

Christmas with the Sanfords (aunt, uncles, and cousins)

Well i have finally gotten all of my pictures from Christmas loaded, so i'm playing catch up! The next 4-5 posts are new, so be sure and scoll down!
The Friday after Christmas we all got together, so we could make sure we included cousin Jessica who now lives in Miami! We had 4 diff. types of soup made by mom, then we had cold sandwiches and dessert of course! I forgot my camera, so these are pictures from mom's post!
The whole gang!
My girls-Jessica, Chelsea, Maggie, and me

The boys-Nolen, Craig, Trevor, David, Mitch, John, Derek, Darryl, and Drew

Grandma and Papaw with their boys!

Pappy's great-grandboys! Man we sure need some girls around here!

Christmas morning!

Christmas morning was a very special time for us! It was the first Christmas morning that Mitchell knew what was going on! The first thing that he said when he woke up was, "Go upstairs" because he knew Santa had come! He got a Mickey Mouse racetrack, a new monster truck, Handy Manny toolbox, some books, a sword, gun, and some other stocking stuffers!
Don't think I don't see you out of the corner of my eye! Move and I'll ZAP you!
Mickey Mouse racetrack! The ramps didn't survive very long! He's too rough on toys!

I can sing and fight you! John was right, the $10 gun/sword was his favorite toy!

Reading Thoms the Train books with daddy!
For breakfast Christmas morning we go to my grandmother's for yet another wonderful meal! My aunt, uncle, and cousins also come! We missed Jeremy (he's away at basic training- Air Force) but we know he's doing a great job in the Air Force!
Boys will be boys!

NOW he smiles right!

Danielle reading a book to Mitchell!

WOAH! A new monster truck-the Raminator!

Thanking Uncle Barry and Aunt Cande for his new monster truck!

Christmas with the Sanfords

Christmas Eve evening we go to my parents for Christmas with them! We had some very scrumptious baked spaghetti-menu picked by yours truly!
Excited to go to Grandma's! Modeling his new jacket that his Uncle Daniel and Uncle David gave him!
Are we EVER gonna get to open presents???!!!????

NOW?? YEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!! Let's do it (one of Mitchell's favorite phrases)

He already found all of the buttons that make noises on the cars! Present picked out by Papaw of course! :0)

John loving his new Skil saw from my parents! It has taken his cornhole business to the next level!

Craig got him a new saw for his business too!

Papaw's new monster truck! Mitchell liked it so much, we had to go buy him one! Ours is a little different though! He's going to build a track for us to race them on!

Loving his new bulldozer! I don't think he hardly set it down the whole night once he opened it up!

What would the boys do without the pool table! Nolen cheesing!

All Trevor wanted was a ball in his hand and he was happy!

Family picture-a little dark, but good smiles!

Christmas with the Careys

We always go the night before Christmas Eve and spend the night with John's side of the family, then open presents the next morning! Clay had to work Christmas Eve morning this year, so we opened presents the night before! Then Christmas Eve morning we all eat a yummy breakfast and play with the toys!

Aunt Lisa brought a gingerbread house for the kiddos to decorate! They really did a great job! Lisa and I both thought that they might drop a few gumdrops on it and be done with it, but they used just about all of the decorations. About halfway through they started realizing that the icing was pretty good to eat though!
Getting ready!
Cousins!

Looks pretty good for 3 two year olds!
I just realized that I didn't take very many pictures while it was present opening time! I think I was too busy trying to get toys out of their boxes!

Loving his big dinosaur from Gram and Pops!

Reading his Handy Manny book from Aunt Susie! He loves his book and all of his tools and toolbelt! Thanks Aunt Susie!
