18 month check-up

Well-proportioned...Thats what Dr. Mehrotra said about Mitchell yesterday at his 18 month check-up. He weighed 31 lbs. 2 oz. (95%) he was 34 inches (90%) and his head was 50 cm (97%) He also said that he looked very healthy and he was happy with all of his developmental things! So we have a healthy little boy, praise God!
Mitchell is so funny to watch while Dr. M is listening to his heart and checking everything else. He just sits there as calm as can be and watches! It's too cute! I do have to say though, we have a VERY good doctor! Sometimes you go to a doctor and wonder why they are working with kids!
He only got one shot yesterday and he didn't even shed a tear. No more shots until Kindergarten, woohooo! Other than that we are all doing great! Have a good one!

Wev'e been tagged!!

Mitchell's second-cousin Cade has tagged us. So here are 8 things to know about Mitchee-poo!

1. He absolutely loves to climb. I think his daddy has been talking about Mt. Everest a little too much!

2. He is actually a pretty healthy eater. He had four small "trees" (brocolli) yesterday. as grandma calls them. He loves tomatoes and any kind of fruit.

3. He loves being chased and someone saying, "I'm gonna get you." He runs as fast as he can!

4. He, like cousin Cade, loves being outside. The last time it was actually warm enough to go out, he just kept saying..."Oh weeee"

5. He's not the best napper in his crib, but he sure can saw some logs on someones chest! HAHA

6. He loves him some cartoons. Doesn't matter if he has ever seen it before, he still loves it, but Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is his favorite.

7. His favorite question to ask is, "Wat Dat?"

8. Last but not least, he is the sweetest little boy and I love getting kisses and hugs from him!

Now we tag Nolen & Trevor.

18 months

Mitchell will be 18 months tomorrow, for those of you not on mommy age talk...one and a half! Before Mitchell came along, I just wanted to know in years, not months how old a kid was HAHA I haven't really done an update on what all is going on in his life, so here goes.
He's getting some words down. His first "real" word was ball. So everything that is round is a ball. He has hello, hey, & hi down pat. Anytime he picks up a phone he says one of the three there. And he's been saying Bye-bye for a while now. He can say balloon, but it sounds more like ba-oon. He sort of leaves the ll's out! He also calls bubbles ba-oons. Some other words that he says regularly or has said a couple times before: cat, door, hot, boat, & tree. I'm sure I'm leaving some out, but thats the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Then his two most frequented phrases..."Oh no" & "Wat Dat?" Every morning he'll play in his crib for a while when he wakes up and as soon as I go in there he's standing up saying, Wat dat? I love it! LOL
Some of his favorite foods are: tomatoes, cheese, eggs, white chocholate chips, pizza, & any kind of fruit.
He absolutely loves being outside. I can't wait for springtime! He also likes being in the garage, I guess because its almost outside. He is also really loving his books! Again he points at stuff and says, "Wat Dat?" but he knows what it is he's pointing at most of the time. When we read I can ask him where something is and he knows the majority of the time.
Right now he's a momma's boy, but I know that will soon change, so i'm loving all of the kisses and hugs that he gives me. Don't get me wrong, he loves his daddy, but he just likes giving me loving more. HAHA Well thats about all I can think of. Here are a few pictures that I took last night.
Look at those pearly whites

Weeeeeeee!

Mitchell's First Kiss

Sunday night (before I started back eating right) I was really craving some Japanese food. So we decided to try out this new restaurant here in Mt. Juliet. When we walked in we were the only people in there. (#1 bad sign) Then we couldn't understand our waitress (#2 bad sign) We all chose chicken fried rice and it came w/some type of soup. I'm still trying to figure out what kind it was. But Daniel said it had cow's intestines in it. I think it was some type of dumpling. But none of us really ate much of it. Then came the rice, which wasn't too bad. I think this restaurant was a "real" Japanese restaurant, because John asked for an egg roll and they didn't have them there. But anyways, the waitress was a little bored since we were the only people in there, so she kept coming over and talking/playing with Mitchell. Well after Mitchell had crawled under the table and made his way over to John the lady came back over again. She was holding her arms out for him to go to her...at first he was a little hesitant, but he finally went to her. I think she was about 5'2 and weighed 110 lbs., so I'm sure it was a little shock when she firt picked him up! They had a karoake/band section set up, so Mitchell and her went over and played the tamborine a little while. He was mainly running around and she was chasing him! HAHA It also sounded like they were having a conversation, because she was hard to understand and Mitchell just has his own language. Although the food wasn't what we expected John really liked it, because we had a built in babysitter!
So then it was time to leave and at first John told Mitchell to give her a head butt, which he did, then he told her Bye-bye, then John says, give her a kiss! LOL I was really thinking that he wouldn't, but he ran right up to her and gave her a big wet one, right on her lips! LOL So I guess that will be recorded down as Mitchell's first kiss! LOL Just thought I would share this story. Have a great day!

Christmas

I know its already 2008 and I'm just now getting my Christmas pictures up, but it's only the 2nd! We had a very fun, busy Christmas holiday. Started off Sunday the 23rd at Aunt Susie's house. John's cousin, Barbara, and her son, Jamie, flew in from Deleware for the holidays. So we visited with them, ate, and opened presents. After that we all went to Pops & Grams house and spent the night. The next morning (Christmas Eve) we ate breakfast and opened presents. The grandkids got little rocking chairs, toy boxes, and clothes.
The next stop was to Grandma & Papaw's (my parents) There Mitchell got a tricycle, a horse, clothes, books, and flash cards. Grandmother, Pawpaw, and Pappy also came over to watch their great-grandkids open their presents.
John and I decided not to go all out this year for Christmas so we just got Mitchell a little ball pit, a train set (bought on E-bay for half the price, woohooooo) and some shoes. I think the train set was his favorite, even though it's not really been set up yet. We have to make a little table for it, then glue it down, because someone is a little destructive!
After we played at home for a while we went up to my grandmothers house for breakfast. I look forward to this breakfast as soon as the Christmas holiday starts. It's just something we have always done and I love breakfast! Mitchell got a toy tool set from Grandmother and Pawpaw and some money.
Uncle Daniel & David also got Mitchell a little indoor basketball goal and some clothes. He really loved the basketball goal. Thanks guys!
We just want to say thank you to everyone for Mitchell's gifts and for ours as well. We are so blessed to receive all of the gifts, but we are even more blessed to have families who are so loving, caring, giving, and supportive! Thank you!

Pops & Grams got all of the grandkids their own rocking chair. I think they all loved them. Mitchell likes getting in his and sitting backwards.
Mitchell sitting in the Carey chair. At one point this chair belonged to Pops, then it got passed down. I guess John was the last one to get it passsed to, since he was the youngest.

Mitchell playing with cousin Jamie. I think Mitchell was playing, rearrange everything on the fridge and Jamie was putting it all back in order! HAHA

Couldn't resist putting this picture up. I'm sure they won't like it too much when they are older, but its cute now.

Future Mozart I, II, & III.

The kiddos had lots of fun running up and down Aunt Susie's hall!

Not real sure what features Mitchell got from me, except for the hair and eyes!

He loves his horse. Loves giving it kisses, pressing his ear (to make the noises) then riding it!

Grandma & Papaw got Nolen & Mitchell a tricycle just like this one and little Trevor man got a Radio Flyer rocket!

I only cut Mitchell out, because he was drinking a cup, not looking at the camera! HAHA

Best picture we could get of all three of them together! (Mitchell, Trevor & Nolen)

Mitchell liked using our real tools so much while the construction was going on that grandmother & Pawpaw got him his very own tool set!

He loves his basketball goal!

We gave him the ball and he new exactly what to do with it! SLAM IT!

David helping Mitchell slamdunk the ball!
