CAUTION: Men at work

This past weekend John and I played in a softball tourney in Hartsville, so Mitchell got to spend lots of time with Grams & Pops (hopefully they have recovered) He was very busy all weekend...plowing the field, riding around on the gator, and he even tried driving a helicopter. The tournament was put on by the local EMS, so the lifeflight was there. Pops took Mitchell & Maddie over to see it and the pilot suggested putting Mitchell in the seat....YIKES!! They put him in the seat and whats the first thing he does?? Grabs the stick! LOL Ne fear for this kid. (Aunt Karla snapped some pictures, so as soon as i get those from her, i'll post them) Mitchell & Maddie even go to see the helicopter take off...how exciting.
Plowing up the land with Pops!
Doing some yardwork with Pops!
FINALLY...machinery just my size.
John and I went and bought this for him because he is always trying to ride his little dump truck and tractor trailer, which are very small. So we thought he would enjoy something he could actually fit on and he does!

Last week!

Last Thursday Mitchell and I went up to Center Hill to visit with Grandma, Papaw, and Nolen for the day. Dad hauled his new fifth wheel for the first time and had a rough start, but everyone made it there safely. Just a little story about Nolen. Mitchell and I started out in my car behind them, because we had to drop Rocky off at our house. Well I get a call about 5 minutes after we left and they are pulled over on the side of the road. As they were getting off HWY 70 and on to HWY 109 they hear a loud noise...the hitch had shifted on them. It was so scary to mom that she thought the trailer was coming through the back window. So they get pulled over and get Nolen's carseat in my car and we all head on up to the gas station to get off the side of the road. Well on the way there Nolen says, "Kristin did you hit Papaw's camper?" LOL I guess since he saw my car right behind Papaw's and he heard the noise, he thought i had hit them. I think he was a little confused because he said it again later on. HAHA But dad got it fixed (sort of...enough to make it to Center Hill) Mitchell loved having a riding partner right beside him, but I don't think Nolen liked it too much. Mitchell just kept trying to touch him while at the same time laughing and Nolen was just swatting at him to get him to quit touching him! :0) But we got there and strolled around, then went to the playground and had fun.
Grandma & Mitchell Weeeeeee! This is Mitchell's hair DURING the slide down...
Mitchell's hair AFTER the slide...to get the full effect, click on the picture to emlarge it!
John also stopped to get Emma a new bed, because he saw an ad in the paper that they were on sale. Well he gets it home and what do you know, Rocky takes it over! So I guess its back to TSC for another one. Dogs are worse than kids i do believe. Can't just give one a toy/gift.
Here is pretty girl Emma, enjoying her new bed, that she gets to use sometimes!

14 months today!

Happy 14 months to Mitchell.
Here are a few pictures from the past few days. I was slacking on my picture taking because of the old camera being messed up, so we have been making up for it the past few days.

Mitchell and mommy modeling for the new camera. My face was so red from the Titans game. We sure didn't think we would get that much sun!
Pawpaw and Mitchell playing Peek-a-boo! He sure loves his Pawpaw!
Aunt Lisa, Uncle Clay, and cousin Michael came over for a bit last night. I think its safe to say that Michael is a clone of his daddy. HAHA
Bathtime! Can anyone say, "Up to no good?"

Remodeling job!

Well i promised pictures from the house, so here they are. As you'll see we pretty much added a new house to our existing house. HAHA We can't wait until we can use the huge Bonus Room. We may never leave the house again.
Anytime it gets real quiet and there is a ladder in the room, you can pretty much count on finding Mitchell right here!
BEFORE: Approximately 1,100 sq. feet
AFTER: Approximately 2,400 sq. feet. WOW what a difference! (I could have picked a better time of the day to take this picture, huh?)
Kitchen: Grandmother re-did our existing cabinets. They look WONDERFUL and the black crown mold and rope around the top just tops them off. We are about to order new countertops too.
KITCHEN: Looking in this direction...the old backdoor was to the left of the stove here. We knocked the door and wall out and opened it all up. Now our kitchen table won't be crowded like it was in the old kitchen part.
I took this picture from inside the old middle bedroom. We are now turning this room into the washroom (getting the washer and dryer out of the kitchen....woohoooo) So where the doorway is here, was where the old window to this room was. We knocked the window out and made it the new hallway to the addition. Mitchell's new big boy bedroom is on the left after you pass through the doorway here. I couldn't really get at a good angle to take the picture of the room.
BONUS ROOM: This is at the end of the hallway that you just saw. You can take a left and come up to the Bonus Room or step down into the two-car garage. This is a really big room 23x24, so we'll have lots of room to play now. Notice my two workers, working hard!
This is the beautiful railing that Pawpaw and my dad put up this weekend. They did a great job and I LOVE it! Hopefully it's Mitchell-prove! HAHA
And finally, this is the foreman of the job, telling us that we are doing a great job and that its almost complete!

Update

Hello! Just wanted to let everyone know that we are alive and well. It's been a while since i've had time for a new post. We have been working on the house a lot and trying to keep Mitchell off the ladders, away from air conditioning vents that aren't covered, and out of all the dust from where we have been sanding. HAHA He just wants to go through the one door (to the new addition) that he doesn't need to go in. So hopefully within a couple weeks we will be done. Joe is supposed to come over sometime next week to lay the carpet, then all we'll have left is the electrical, besides a few odds and ends. So the end is in sight. Woohoooo!
Another reason I haven't posted lately is because our camera was messed up. I would put a brand new camera in it and it still wouldn't work. So after about 30 minutes of Daniel and David giving the poor Target girl a hard time, we left with a new camera. I've taken a few pics already, I just have to be at my mom's so I can add pictures.
Other than the house Mitchell is still being Mitchell. He LOVES new places so highchairs never work at restaurants. All he wants to do is just get down and walk around and look at all the new stuff and people. He definetly has his daddy's personality - he's a people person. I don't know why we torture ourselves by eating out anymore HAHA Amy got to witness the chaos first hand a couple weeks ago. John and I have to eat in shifts! He has been walking now for about 2 1/2 months, but just now got to where he wears shoes. At first he would stumble over the shoes and would just want to take them off, but I think he's finally gotten used to them. He had a fun weekend spending the night w/Pops and Gram Saturday night and going to church with them Sunday. John and I rode the train downtown to the Titans game Sunday. It really was a blast! Hopefully I'll have some new pictures up soon from the new camera. Have a great day!

Trip to Woodstock!

Woodstock, GA that is! We took a short weekend trip down to visit Matt & Shannah (my best friend) This was our second trip down. We went when Mitchell was 4 months old, so he was a little more active this time. We are gonna go back down once Shannah gets pregnant, so we can help baby-proof their house. We had a great time! Mitchell was a great rider and very good all weekend long, even with a snotty nose and some new teeth coming in.
Saturday he got to meet his future girlfriend, Kendall (Matt's niece). That is if her parents approve...he was already trying to kiss all over her. She is about a month and a half younger than Mitchell. Mitchell also got to play with Bradley (Kendall's 3 yr. old brother) They had lots of fun chasing each other around Shannah's house. It was the cutest thing to hear them squeel and after they were done Mitchell could hardly walk, his legs were like jello.
Mitchell also got to play with a cat for the first time and he really liked Squirt. He would also give him kisses (Hmmmmm, guess Mitchell is gonna love kissing) He wasn't too sure about Cammie, their dog. I think he's just used to smaller dogs because of Rocky.
Other than that we just hung out and watched football and "Blades of Glory" (Two thumbs up by the way) We really miss Aunt Shannah and Uncle Matt and wished they were here in TN! Maybe someday they'll come back for good! ;0) Thanks for a great weekend, it was very nice to get away from our construction site! We love you!

Aunt Shannah, Mitch, and Kristin
Hey, Baby...give me a kiss!

YEAH, I got one!!!!
Mitchell letting Squirt smell his hand!
Mitchell loves kissing everyone!
WOW, I caught a bear cub! No, thats just Squirt the cat! (Aunt Shannah's wording)
Here's Cammie, begging to get out of her cage. She gets really excited when lots of people are over, so she had to take a break!
