C-O-L-I-C

Hello everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts, we have had our hands full the past few weeks! Well what we thought started out as just acid reflux has turned into colic too. I had always heard of colic horror stories but you just don't understand it until you go through it yourself. My sister-in-law says she feels like some things happen to make you grateful and let me tell you, this has really made us grateful of how easy of a baby Mitchell was. We just didn't know how easy we had it. I'm also thinking once she overcomes this colic that we'll be grateful for every quiet, non-crying minute that we have with her and I know she'll be a happy baby! :)

This past Friday was a really rough day and the only thing that kept me sane was Mitchell. Whenever she cries really hard she starts sounding like a lamb, so on Friday I think i heard him say at least 5 times, "There goes that crazy little lamb again." Thankfully he was very good for me that day and helped me to laugh a little too! Besides her "crying" time in the evening she's really becoming very alert and very curious. I know this may seem like forever at the moment but it will soon be over and long gone. As John says, "we are just weathering the storm" Speaking of John, he's a great dad and husband! Monday night i had a really bad headache and it was during her crying time, so i went to Mitchell's room to sleep(he was camping with mom) for what i thought would just be for 4 hours, but he stayed up with her until midnight and let me sleep until it was time for him to go to work! Thanks hun! So last night i returned the favor and he got a good 8 hours sleep! I'm also very thankful for my mom and grandmother who have really helped us during this time. Mitchell has been spending a lot of time with Grandma and Papaw and grandmother keeps Shelby for me while i work.

We have switched her over to soy formula, because we were thinking the dairy that i was eating may have been hurting her belly too. She does seem to be less fussy during the day since we have switched! So we just keep looking at the calendar for that magic 4 months mark when everyone says it seems to go away! Until then we are cherishing every happy moment we have with her! :)

One month old

He loves his sister. Saturday night we went to John's 10 yr. reunion. Mitchell went to Pops and Shelby went to Grandmas. When we went to pick Shelby up the first thing Mitchell asked Grandma was, "Did you take good care of my sister?"

It must be the second child-- everything goes so well with the first and you think I can do that again...well surprise the second child is a totally different breed!! Madden was a screamer from 10 to 2!! I feel your pain:) Madden is SO different than Maymie... Stacey and I were talking about this today!!! I guess I had it coming being the 2nd child..... paybacks are tough:)

So sweet! I know it's hard weathering the storm, but we also need to learn how to dance in the rain sometimes! So glad to see on FB that she is feeling better. I loved that smile! Soon this too shall pass. I know we all wish for their sake it will hurry tho! Mitchell is so sweet. Enjoyed camping with you guys!
