Gulf Shores '08

Well we are back from a great vacation and we had a great time! We left around 1AM last Saturday and arrived around 8. We did some shopping at the outlet malls, then ate some CiCi's pizza. Luckily we were able to check in at 1 instead of 3! Mitchell had a blast. He was in the pool anywhere between 8:30-9 every morning. Most of the time he had the pool to himself that early. Then he would be tired around 11-11:30 so we would go in and eat, then he took at least a 3 hour nap everyday! Most days John stayed in while he napped and let Shannah and I lay out. I really appreciated it since I don't get to see her much anymore, thanks hun!
Mitchell wasn't really crazy about the beach. I think it was the fact of him being wet, then getting in the sand and it sticking to him. He loved the ocean though. He liked it most when the waves crashed on him. The first day there he would just run and plop onto the water, i have a short video that i'll try and get posted! We ate out at Lambert's one night, it was a very fun place to eat and I found out that Mitchell really likes Fried Okra! HAHA We also at at Lulu's, which is Jimmy Buffett's sisters restaurant. We had to wait about an hour and a half, but it was well worth it. It was great food and it was right on the bay, so there was lots to see! We went putt-putting one night, but other than that we just hung out and relaxed!

Side view from our room! I really liked where we stayed. It wasn't right on the beach, but it wasn't a far walk at all. We had a great view, especially of the firework show that was out on a barge in the ocean!

So the very first day at the condo, John tells Mitchell to sit down when we are in the elevator, so from that point on he would go in the elevator and sit down! It was too funny!

Mitchell was very good for the hour and a half wait. He entertained us!

At the waterpark! Mitchell had a great time at the waterpark, going down the slides, playing with the water guns, and getting water dumped on his head. It didn't open until 10AM, so we only got to stay about 2 1/2 hours before he got sleepy!

I think someone was splashing him here! HAHA

Family pic! We didn't quite make it to the beach. John was trying to go to bed really early that night since we were leaving around 1AM to head home, so the balcony did just fine!
